My artwork consists of abstract acrylic paintings that often begin with “found “ compositions - happenstance arrangements of trash or discarded objects placed with no regard for color, shape or design. I strive to maintain an openness to new possibilities in each painting, taking each on its' own terms.
The process is very much alive, much like jazz … composition with both structure and improvisation. While the departure point for a work may come from what I observe and record, I find abstraction the most fluid expression of the non – linear and non - verbal.
